Our Vision
We believe that data is the lifeblood of every mission. Our goal is to make sure it moves securely — so intelligence, defense, and federal civilian and health agencies can carry out their missions without compromise.
Our aim is to be a seamless collaborator with government agencies, program managers, and systems integrators. We develop, deploy, and support identity, geospatial, and AI systems inside any mission area.
We meet our customers where they are and then enable them to do more. Our customers get engineers who keep their promises, develop with purpose, and deliver sustained value. They also get hands-on technical leadership from founder and CEO Ricky Berrios, who started Bana in the belief that today’s security challenges require more than innovative technology design — and that a good dose of implementation realism is an innovation in itself.
Our Story
Any tech vendor can build something. Our engineers first assess the need, audit the operating and regulatory environment, and plan a solution on the most appropriate technology available. Only then do we build something — something mission-appropriate, compatible with the existing IT landscape, and value-optimized.
Since day one, the Bana story has been about delivering inspired implementation to government agencies that had grown used to getting less: less vision, less innovation, less responsiveness from paint-by-numbers vendors.
Our roots are in enterprise identity. From there the work grew into geospatial systems that depend on knowing who may see what, and into the data and AI engineering that puts governed data to use. A decade in, our first customer is still a customer. The programs have changed names; the engineers who built the first one are still on the network. Rather than fill orders, we deliver smarter solutions. Source tech without bias. Implement realistically. Develop with purpose. And field great teams who help customers achieve the breakthrough they’re seeking.
Where we stand
Open interfaces, no lock-in. We build on the platforms our customers have already chosen and connect them through open standards, so they can change a vendor without changing their mission.
Humans in the loop, by construction. The AI systems we design and build cannot approve, waive, or publish on their own. Every privileged action waits on a recorded human decision that leaves a trace a person can read.

Bana Solutions LLC is headquartered in McLean, Virginia. In the indigenous Puerto Rican language, Bana means “greatness.” Founder, President, and CEO Ricky Berrios chose the name as a reference to the hard work required to achieve great dreams.
